Vehicles in German Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Police
Authorities reported they were contacted by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Officers state they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then discovered numerous other marked cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police say initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; authorities are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the event," they commented.

City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the public for details.

An important official said the incident rendered him without words and had to be solved quickly.

"This act hits the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
